She has a special interest in movement and posture - especially related to yoga, martial arts and dance. Avni uses a variety of osteopathic treatment techniques including cranial, manipulation and soft tissue. She is passionate about health promotion and complementary therapies.

Louise. Registered osteopathLouise

Louise qualified from the British College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2006. She became aware of osteopathy after falling from a horse and having subsequent back pain. This resulted in her having osteopathic treatment throughout her teens, which relieved her problems. It was this insight plus her interest in biology and enthusiasm for sports which lead Louise down the ‘osteopathy route’. She treats using both a structural and functional approach. She is still a keen runner and holds a black tag in Tae Kwon-Do.

Rob. Registered osteopathRob

Rob qualified in 2005 with honours at the British College of Osteopathic Medicine leaving with a Bachelor of Science in Osteopathic Medicine and Diplomas in both Osteopathy and Naturopathy. Since qualifying Rob has worked in busy clinics in Lincolnshire and now lives and works in and around London. He has a particular interest in the prevention of the reoccurrence and prescribes various exercises and stretches to achieve this as well as dietary and lifestyle changes. He ‘practises what he preaches’ by keeping fit and leading a healthy lifestyle.

Liz. Registered OsteopathLiz

Liz qualified from the British School of Osteopathy in 2008. She first gained an interest after having her horse treated and embarked on a career change to become an osteopath - and decided to focus on people! Liz enjoys treating a range of patients and uses a structural approach utilising a range of techniques.

Osteopathy  - Standards of training and practice

All osteopaths practising in the UK have completed rigorous training. Students of osteopathy follow a four or five-year degree course, during which they study anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, nutrition and biomechanics. In addition they undergo a minimum of 1,ooo hours of clinical training. Qualification generally takes the form of a bachelors degree in osteopathy - a BSc (Hons) , BOst or BOstMed - or a masters degree in osteopathy (MOst).

General Osteopathic CouncilThe General Osteopathic Council (GOsc) sets the standards of osteopathic education, and requires qualified osteopaths to update training throughout their working lives, a process known as continuing professional development. The GOsC also ensures that all osteopaths comply with strict osteopathic practice standards and the profession’s Code of Practice.  As well as completing the necessary training, osteopaths must also prove themselves to be in good health and of good character, and have professional indemnity insurance cover.
